Safeguarding — Wealth Starters Academy
Safeguarding at WSA

The safety and wellbeing of every student matter.

Wealth Starters Academy is committed to providing a safe, respectful and age-appropriate learning environment for children and young people.

Protection, respect and dignity, at every stage.

WSA takes reasonable and appropriate steps to protect students from harm, respond to concerns and create an environment in which they are treated with dignity and respect.

Safeguarding responsibilities apply during sessions, enterprise activities, communications and any approved online or off-site learning connected with WSA.

Everyone working with students is properly checked.

WSA uses safer recruitment and suitability procedures appropriate to each role. Required identity, reference, background and safeguarding checks must be completed before an adult undertakes work for which those checks are required.

Staff and approved adults must follow WSA's code of conduct, professional boundaries, reporting procedures and safeguarding guidance.

Every session is planned with safety in mind.

Before delivery, WSA puts appropriate arrangements in place for attendance, supervision, arrival and collection, emergency contacts, risk management, first aid access and reporting concerns.

For school or partner delivery, responsibilities are agreed with the host organisation before the programme begins.

No real account details, ever.

Students will not be asked to share passwords, PINs, private family finances or real bank-account details. Financial activities use age-appropriate examples, fictional information or controlled simulations.

Any approved digital activity or communication must follow WSA's safeguarding, privacy and acceptable use arrangements.

Consent-based, and always optional.

Photographs, video or student work will only be used in accordance with the approved consent and privacy arrangements. Optional media consent must be presented separately and can be declined without affecting access to the standard programme.

Report promptly, even if you're not sure.

Students, parents, staff and partners should report any safeguarding concern promptly, even if they are unsure whether it is serious.
