Wealth Starters Academy — Money Skills for Life

Young people need more than financial knowledge.
They need confidence to use it.

💷

Practical money decisions

Students create budgets, set savings goals, compare choices and work through realistic financial scenarios — not just vocabulary exercises.

💡

Entrepreneurial thinking

From a first business idea to a researched, costed and presented venture — students learn to recognise opportunities and act on them responsibly.

📈

Progressive independence

Each pathway builds on the last. Younger students establish habits; older students prepare for adult financial decisions with real confidence.

🛡️

Responsible education

No hype, no promises of quick wealth. WSA promotes informed choices, ethical enterprise and honest awareness of financial consequences.

"WSA helps students understand money, make responsible choices and recognise opportunities. Every stage moves learning into action."

From the WSA Mission — equipping young people aged 7–19 with practical financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills.

A practical pathway from first money choices to financial independence.

Three progressive programmes designed around the financial decisions and entrepreneurial opportunities young people meet as they grow. Start with the student's age — each pathway follows the UK academic year.

Ages 7–12

Money Explorers

Build strong money habits through saving, budgeting, smart spending and a supported mini-enterprise challenge. Students explore earning, needs and wants, and take their first steps into enterprise.

Foundations
Ages 13–15

Money Managers & Emerging Entrepreneurs

Strengthen personal money management — budgets, banking, credit, payslips and tax — and turn opportunities into researched, costed and tested business ideas.

Development
Ages 16–19

Financially Independent Young Adults & Startup Innovators

Prepare for adult financial decisions — independent living, student finance, credit, insurance — and develop more advanced ventures with greater independence.

Independence

Learn. Use. Build. Review.

Students explore a concept, apply it to a realistic task, build something practical and review the result. No passive memorisation — every session moves learning into action.

1

Learn

The tutor introduces a financial or entrepreneurship concept in clear, age-appropriate language with real-world examples.

2

Explore

Students examine examples, discuss choices and consider how the concept applies in everyday life or business situations.

3

Apply

Students complete an individual or team activity — building a budget, testing an idea, making a business decision or calculating a result.

4

Reflect

Students review the result, explain their thinking and identify what they would improve next time — developing judgement alongside knowledge.

Autumn

Build the Foundations

Students develop age-appropriate financial knowledge and entrepreneurial thinking — earning, saving, budgets, banking, opportunity recognition.

Spring

Strengthen and Plan

Students work with more realistic money decisions and develop an enterprise idea through research, costing, branding and planning.

Summer

Apply and Reflect

Students put learning into practice, calculate the financial results, track profit or loss and identify improvements.

WSA works with parents and guardians seeking practical preparation for their young person, and with schools and education organisations looking to bring structured financial and enterprise education to their students.

👨‍👩‍👧

For Parents & Guardians

WSA gives young people practical opportunities to understand money, make informed choices and develop business ideas in an age-appropriate learning environment. No previous financial or business knowledge is needed — from your child or from you.

🏫

For Schools & Education Partners

WSA works with primary and secondary schools, sixth forms, colleges, multi-academy trusts and alternative settings to deliver structured financial literacy and entrepreneurship education that complements students' wider learning.

Parents notice the difference at home.

★★★★★

My son started asking about how much things actually cost before he buys them. He set up a savings jar on his own after the second session.

Parent, Money Explorers
★★★★★

Our daughter came home with a costed business plan for a dog-walking round, complete with pricing and a simple profit calculation. That surprised us.

Parent, Money Managers & Emerging Entrepreneurs
★★★★★

The student finance and credit sessions gave our son a much clearer head going into sixth form. He now checks the numbers before he commits to anything.
